Privacy policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data RangeMind stores, why, and the rights you have over it.
Who is responsible
RangeMind (rangemind.app) is responsible for the processing of your data. You can contact us at contact@rangemind.app.
What we store
Your account: email address, name (optional), password (stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form), language and display preferences, and the dates you signed up and last signed in.
What you add to the app: rifle and ammunition profiles, custom bullets, shot logs, shooting sessions and groups (including the target photos you take to log a group, saved in a compressed copy), saved reloading loads, and feedback you send (including an optional screenshot and basic browser details, such as the browser and screen size, to help us reproduce problems).
Technical data: like any website, our servers receive your IP address and technical request details. They are used only to run and protect the service (for example to limit repeated sign-in attempts) and are kept for a limited time.
Crash reports: when the app or the server runs into an error, a technical report is sent so we can fix it: the error, the page or request where it happened (without its parameters), and the browser, device and app version. It contains no email address, password, profile data or IP address, and is kept for at most 90 days.
Why we use it
To provide the service you ask for: your account, your profiles and calculations, and syncing them between your devices (contract).
To send you the emails the service needs: confirming your email, resetting your password, security notices, and replies to your feedback (contract and legitimate interest).
To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest).
What we don’t do
No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics, and we don’t sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
The app keeps your sign-in session and preferences in your device’s local storage. These are needed for the app to work and are not used for tracking.
Where your data is stored
The application runs on servers of OVHcloud in the European Union. The database is hosted on MongoDB Atlas, emails are sent through OVHcloud, and crash reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) in its European Union data region. These providers process the data only on our behalf.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and all its data are deleted immediately. Copies in our database backups disappear when those backups are replaced, within a limited period.
Password-reset and email-confirmation links expire after 30 minutes and 24 hours respectively.
Your rights
You can see and correct your data in the app, and delete your account and all its data at any time in Settings → Delete my account.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its processing, by writing to contact@rangemind.app.
If you think your data isn’t handled properly, you can complain to your data protection authority (for example the CNIL in France or the APD/GBA in Belgium).
Age
RangeMind is intended for adults (18 and over).
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date above. For significant changes, we will let you know by email or in the app.
